Small Mirrors

ST. Francis, Lobo, y Tecolote
(St. Francis, Wolf, and Owl), glass mirror encased in layered, bonded, carved masonite, painted in acrylic. @ 3"w x 4"h.

These "small" mirrors are really, I guess, tiny by some standards! None is more than 4" square! I started making them as ornaments and found that people liked buying them any time of the year!

Unlike my other mirrors, these are NOT framed in wood. I'm making these in a technique I came up with all on my own. The material is masonite, and I bond several layers together, encasing the glass mirror in the middle of the layers. After the bonding (waterproof wood glue containing wood fibers) material is cured, I carve the masonite into intricate shapes and paint it. I use fabric for an artful backing as on all my mirrors, and a copper wire loop is attached for hanging.

I do repeat the designs of these mirrors, although each will be somewhat different from it's predecessor of the same design. They run $15 to $25. E-Mail me about availability.

More to ba added as I come up with new designs!

La Guadalupana
(Our Lady of Guadalupe), glass mirror encased in layered, bonded, carved masonite, painted in acrylic. @ 3"w x 4"h.
